Perched on a leafy hill 45 km northeast of Nagpur, this fort-temple is where Lord Rama supposedly rested during his exile. People have worshipped here since the 5th-century Vakataka era! Combine it with nearby Khindsi Lake to make it a relaxed, full-day escape.
Getting there
A breeze of a drive on smooth roads. The real fun starts at the end, winding up the hill to the temple's parking lot.
You can catch a train to Ramtek station, but getting into town from there is tricky. Honestly, driving door-to-door is way easier.
