Just 80 km west of Nashik in Palghar district, Jawhar was founded in 1343 as a Koli princely capital. Today, it is a breezy hill escape full of vibrant Warli art, the hilltop Jai Vilas Palace, roaring waterfalls, and rich tribal heritage.
Getting there
A gorgeous, winding ghat climb past Trimbak. Take it easy and enjoy the emerald views, especially when it rains.
