Getting there
It is a 1.5-hour drive to Anacortes, then a gorgeous 45-90 minute ferry ride. You only pay round-trip fares at Anacortes (reckon on about $81 for a car and driver on 2025 summer weekends).
With multiple daily flights at $75-139 each way, this is a spectacular, car-free thrill. Just hop on the island shuttle once you land.

- Ferry fares are only collected at Anacortes and cover your round trip, which means hopping westward to other islands is completely free.
- Watch out near Roche Harbor - your phone will easily latch onto Canadian towers. Turn off data roaming to avoid unexpected fees.
