Tithal Beach (Valsad)
Valsad's brown-sand beach fringed by casuarina trees, with the seaside Swaminarayan and Sai Baba temples at either end. A classic family evening spot: camel carts, snack stalls, big sunsets. High tides rule out swimming.
Just 94 km from Surat and 4 km outside Valsad, Tithal's famous brown sands make for a breezy day trip. Expect coastal temples bookending the shore, lazy casuarina shade, and a gorgeous Arabian Sea sunset.

A smooth cruise down the highway, or hop on a train to Valsad and flag an auto for the last 4 km.

From April to June, roadside stalls overflow with local hafus straight from the orchards - pure gold.
Sweet, tree-ripened chikoos sold all along NH48 - snag a basket on your way back.
When to go
Crisp ocean breezes and picture-perfect sunsets make this the best time to linger outdoors.
Dramatic skies and choppy tides; temple hopping is fine, but beach lounging takes a backseat.
Warm days, so visit temples early and save the beach for post-4 PM. Bonus: peak mango season!
