Tomorrowland Belgium vs Brazil vs Winter: Which to Book

Three festivals, one name, wildly different trips. And in 2027 they land within fifteen weeks of each other, which has never happened before.

Here is what most comparison pages get wrong: they compare lineups. Do not bother. You will see roughly the same rotation of Armin van Buuren, Charlotte de Witte, Lost Frequencies, Alok and Steve Aoki whether you are standing in a Belgian park, a Brazilian field or on a French glacier. The lineup is a rounding error.

What actually differs is crowd size, climate, how hard it is to get in, and what the trip costs once you have added flights and a bed.

The 2027 calendar problem nobody is talking about

Tomorrowland Brasil did not run in 2026. The next edition is 30 April to 2 May 2027, with organisers pointing to the loss of the Orbyz mainstage in the July 2025 Belgium fire and a crowded global production schedule. Plenty of "which Tomorrowland" pages still list a 2026 Brasil date. They are wrong.

That postponement stacks all three editions into a single spring-to-summer run:

• Tomorrowland Brasil - 30 April to 2 May 2027, Parque Maeda, Itu
• Tomorrowland Belgium - projected 16 to 18 and 23 to 25 July 2027, Boom (dates follow the usual late-July pattern and are not yet confirmed)

The sales cluster much earlier than that. Brasil goes on general sale in late September 2026, Winter's packages in early October 2026, Belgium in late January 2027. Start planning in spring 2027 and two of the three are already gone.

Tomorrowland Belgium: the 400,000-person one

De Schorre park in Boom sits 16 km south of Antwerp and 32 km north of Brussels, and for two weekends every July it holds 200,000 people at a time. Across both weekends the 2026 edition drew 400,000 attendees from more than 200 countries.

The production is genuinely absurd, in the good way. The 2026 theme, Consciencia, organised sixteen stages around six emotions - Wonder, Love, Anger, Joy, Desire and Sadness - rather than by genre. The Mainstage was the biggest they have ever built: 43 metres tall, 140 metres wide, with real waterfalls and fountains built into it. The livestream pulled 233 million views, up from 193 million the year before.

They can also take a punch. On 16 July 2025, two days before gates opened, the Orbyz mainstage burned down. Crews built a replacement in time using components from Metallica's touring stage sitting in storage in Austria, and the festival opened on schedule.

Getting in is the hard part

Belgium is not a ticket purchase, it is a raffle. Pre-registration with identity verification is mandatory, and on sale day everyone is dropped into a randomised virtual waiting room. At its worst, Full Madness passes have gone in 35 minutes with the leftovers cleared in seconds.

One detail that kills international buyers every year: Visa and Mastercard credit cards only. Debit and prepaid cards fail at checkout, and by the time you have found another card your slot is gone. Sort this out in December, not on sale day.

2026 prices, as a guide to 2027: day pass from €138, Full Madness €304 in pre-sale and €365 in the worldwide sale, Comfort tiers roughly €550 to €900, DreamVille camping from €381 (every DreamVille package already bundles a Full Madness pass), and Global Journey travel packages from around €450 to €2,500 and up. Global Journey had sold out by 24 January 2026.

Tomorrowland Brasil: the loudest one

Parque Maeda in Itu is about 120 km inland from São Paulo. Brasil ran in 2015 and 2016, died with the Brazilian economy in late 2016, and came back in October 2023. That comeback edition sold out in under three hours and then lost an entire day to a storm that wrecked the site infrastructure.

It has grown fast since. The 2025 edition drew a record 180,000 people from more than 100 countries over three days, with 150-plus artists across six stages under the LIFE theme, including two new builds, Crystal Garden and Morpho.

The 2027 date change matters more than the lineup. Moving from October to the end of April shifts the festival out of the storm-prone spring and into São Paulo state's drier autumn. After 2023, that is not a cosmetic decision.

2027 prices: Full Madness at R$3,160 (roughly €500), with half-price and social tiers at R$1,580 and R$1,895. Comfort runs R$5,535 (about €870). The top Nº1 pass at R$8,600 (around €1,350) is the one worth doing the maths on, because it bundles open bar, open food, every Comfort area and a shuttle from São Paulo and Itu, which removes both the on-site spend and the transport headache in one purchase. DreamVille Brasil starts at R$2,565 per person for a bring-your-own-tent Magnificent Greens pitch on top of your pass, and climbs past R$30,000 for glamping.

For a European or North American traveller the ticket costs roughly what Belgium costs. Everything around it - food, drinks, taxis, hotels - does not.

Tomorrowland Winter: the small one

Alpe d'Huez takes around 22,000 people. That is about eighteen times smaller than Belgium, and it is the single biggest reason to choose it. Seven to eight stages are spread between the resort village and the mountain, across 250 km of piste and altitudes from 1,800 m up to 3,330 m at Pic Blanc.

The 2026 edition put Orbyz on snow at 2,100 m, redesigned the Mainstage around a butterfly sanctuary, and hung a kinetic installation over the Cage stage. Crystal Garden sits at about 2,200 m with a giant dreamcatcher over the crowd. More than 100 artists played, a quarter of them women.

You do not need to ski. Every mountain stage is reachable on foot or by gondola, which makes this the only Tomorrowland where a non-skiing friend is not a logistical problem.

The honest catch

Mountain stages run roughly 10:00 to 16:00. The village runs from midday to 2am. You cannot do both hard for seven days. People who try to ski every morning and close the Mainstage every night are wrecked by day three, and the Alpe d'Huez lifts are slower than what you get in Austria, so a hungover 11am start costs you real hours. Decide before you arrive whether this is a ski week with music or a festival week with a view.

Prices: a 7-day package runs about €1,400 per person and includes seven nights of lodging, a 7-day lift and ski pass, and festival access. A festival-only 7-day pass is €710 and still includes lift access. On the mountain, expect €3.25 for water, €4.30 to €6.45 for a beer, €10.75 for a cocktail and about €32 for a sit-down lunch - though village pizza at €13 to €16 is right there.

What it actually costs

Belgium's €365 headline is the cheapest number on this page and the most misleading. Add peak-July airfare into Brussels, hotel rates that double or triple across those weekends, and on-site spending in Pearls, and a Belgium weekend regularly lands north of a Winter package that already includes seven nights and a ski pass. Winter's €1,400 looks brutal until you notice what is inside it. Brasil's ticket is European-priced but everything downstream of it is not, which makes it the cheapest of the three for anyone already in South America and the most expensive in airfare for everyone else.

Whichever way you go, a group trip built around one of these turns into four separate bookings per person - flight, bed, festival pass, transfer - sitting in four different inboxes. So which one

If you have never been and you want the version people make documentaries about, Belgium, and start the pre-registration paperwork in December. If you want the biggest crowd energy for the least money per day and you can live with an ocean crossing, Brasil. If you have done a mega-festival before and found yourself doing the arithmetic on how long the toilet queue was, Winter, and it is not close.

The only genuinely bad move is deciding in March 2027. By then you are choosing between whatever is left, which is usually a resale ticket at 2x and a hotel forty minutes out.
