Entry requirements

  • A Republic of Korea passport valid for at least six months from the date you arrive.
  • An SG Arrival Card submitted online before departure. It is free and is not a visa.
  • Proof of onward or return travel, which matters more than usual if Singapore is a stopover rather than your final destination.
  • An address in Singapore for your stay.
  • A yellow fever vaccination certificate if you have been in a country with a risk of yellow fever transmission in the six days before you arrive.

What happens when you arrive

There is no application and no fee. Submit the SG Arrival Card through the official ICA service in the days before departure. Flights from Incheon reach Changi in about six and a half hours.

An immigration officer issues the electronic visit pass at the checkpoint, and that pass sets your permitted stay. It is granted per traveller rather than fixed by nationality, so the maximum is a ceiling and not an entitlement.

The pass is sent by email, not stamped into the passport. Confirm the final permitted date before you leave the airport.

Good to know

  • Many Korean travellers meet Singapore as a Changi stopover on the way to Southeast Asia or Australia rather than as a destination. If you clear immigration to see the city between flights, you are entering the country and the ordinary visa-free rules and the SG Arrival Card requirement both apply.
  • Do not be alarmed by seeing Korea on Singapore’s visa-required list. The entry there is the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, meaning North Korea. Republic of Korea passports are not affected.
  • Visa-free entry covers tourism and business meetings but never paid work, which requires a work pass arranged before travel. Singapore also punishes overstaying with fines and imprisonment, so the date on your visit pass is worth reading carefully.
