Entry requirements
- A passport valid for at least six months from the date you arrive.
- An SG Arrival Card submitted online before you travel. It is free, takes a few minutes, and is a health and entry declaration rather than a visa.
- Proof of onward or return travel. Airlines and immigration officers can and do ask for it.
- An address in Singapore and, occasionally, evidence that you can support yourself during the visit.
- A yellow fever certificate only if you are arriving from, or have recently been in, a country with a risk of yellow fever transmission.
What happens when you arrive
There is no application to make and no fee to pay, so the only thing to do before you fly is submit the SG Arrival Card online. It replaced the old paper disembarkation card and can be completed in the few days before departure.
At the checkpoint an immigration officer issues an electronic visit pass, which is what actually sets how long you may stay. This is a judgement call, not an entitlement, and it is not automatically the maximum. Having your return booking and accommodation details to hand makes that conversation shorter.
Check the length you were granted before you leave the airport. It is recorded electronically rather than stamped in your passport, and it is your responsibility to know the date.

- Visa-free entry covers tourism, social visits and business meetings or conferences. It does not cover paid work of any kind, which needs a separate work pass arranged before you travel.
- Singapore treats overstaying far more seriously than most destinations. Penalties can include fines, imprisonment, caning and deportation depending on how long you overstay.
