No. Dutch citizens do not need a visa to visit Singapore for tourism, business or social visits. You must travel on a passport rather than a Dutch identity card, and the immigration officer sets how long you may stay when you arrive, commonly 30 to 90 days. The free SG Arrival Card must be submitted online beforehand.

Entry requirements
- A Dutch passport valid for at least six months from the date you arrive. The national identity card you can use inside Schengen is not valid for entry to Singapore.
- An SG Arrival Card submitted online before departure. It is free and replaces the old paper card.
- Proof of onward or return travel.
- An address in Singapore, and occasionally evidence that you can support yourself for the visit.
- A yellow fever vaccination certificate if you have been in a country with a risk of yellow fever transmission in the six days before you arrive.
What happens when you arrive
Nothing needs approving in advance, so the only preparation is the SG Arrival Card, submitted through ICA in the days before you fly. Direct flights from Schiphol land at Changi in about twelve hours.
An officer issues an electronic visit pass at the checkpoint and that is what determines the length of your stay. Unlike the freedom of movement you are used to within the EU, this is a discretionary decision made per traveller on the day, and the maximum is not the default.
The pass is emailed to you rather than stamped. Check the last permitted day before leaving the airport.
Good to know
- There is no EU-wide arrangement doing any work here. Singapore sets its rules country by country and the Netherlands is simply absent from its visa-required list, so your entry rests on Dutch nationality rather than on EU citizenship. A non-EU family member travelling with you is assessed on their own passport.
- Visa-free entry does not cover paid work. Business meetings and conferences are fine, employment is not, and that includes remote work for a Dutch employer while sitting in Singapore.
- Penalties for overstaying in Singapore are severe by European standards and include imprisonment as well as fines. Because the length of stay is granted rather than guaranteed, the date in your visit pass email is the only date that counts.
